Glutathione and Proline Attenuates Injury Induced by Boron Toxicity in Wheat

Given the increasing importance of boron (B) toxicity, present study investigates roles glutathione (20 mM, GSH) and proline mM) in improvement wheat (Triticum aestivum cv. Altındane) resistance to B toxicity (10 mM B). The plants were raised hydroponic culture with control, B+glutathione, B+proline, proline. B+glutathione B+proline resisted detrimental influences on root shoot lengths, total chlorophyll, phenolic contents. increased superoxide radicals (O2.-), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), lipid peroxidation (MDA), contents while applications diminished mentioned parameters exception content. Individual combined generally ascorbic acid levels application decreased GSH dismutase, catalase guaiacol peroxidase activities compared control ascorbate activity. Exogenous augmented all enzyme exposed toxicity. As a result, it can be suggested that mitigates toxicity; by preventing oxidative damage membrane, enzymatic non-enzymatic antioxidant decreasing O2.-, H2O2, MDA Glutathione is more effective than mitigating above effects datum submitted current work are significant first indicate exogenous improving plant strength
